Are you a traveler at heart-touched by wanderlust, but never feel you have the time or money to travel the globe and see the world? It's time for a new outlook.

Plan a vacation as soon as you finish reading this article. Then don't let anything stop you from taking it, because if you don't go on holiday now, when will you ever?

Things are changing. The world is smaller. Travel is cheaper. Booking flights, confirming accommodations and lodging, and arranging your agenda is easier than it has ever been. You can turn to a traditional travel agency, but unless you are planning a very unusual holiday, picking a complex schedule of flights, or seeking only exclusive hotels, you can probably handle all your travel and vacation planning easily by yourself. In fact, many people feel that the process of planning their holiday is one of the many delightful parts of the whole vacation experience.

  • Invest in an atlas or at least some up-to-date maps. This will make your driving much, much easier, plus that little bit of preplanning can really help you maximize your time at tourism attractions, historic sites, and museums.

  • If you are buying non-refundable air tickets, or prepaying for your lodging or accommodations, you might want to consider travel insurance. You can purchase travel insurance through a travel agency, travel
