In April of 2007 Sunterra Resorts' parent company, Sunterra Corporation, was acquired by Diamond Resorts, LLC. So far not much has changed, although there has been talk of a few Sunterra Resort name-changes. For more information head on over to our Diamond Resorts page.
Sunterra Resorts unveiled its points program in 2004 allowing owners of Sunterra timeshares to exchange easily within the resort network. The points program is called Club Sunterra Vacations. While Club Sunterra Vacations is still a young program that has its occasional glitches it is an improvement over Sunterra timeshare exchange options of the past when owners had to use outside exchange companies like RCI to exchange for other properties inside or out of the Sunterra network. Although under the new management of Diamond Resorts owners may see great improvements on Sunterra Resorts membership options.
Club Sunterra Vacations is an internal exchange program that allows Sunterra timeshare owners to exchange within the network of 19 resorts including The Ridge at Sedona Golf Resort in Sedona, Arizona; Cypress Point Resort Phase II in Orlando, Florida; The Royal Palm Beach Resort in St. Maarten; and Palm Springs Marquis Villas in Palm Springs, California.
Aside from the Club Sunterra Vacations program, Sunterra Resorts also include worldwide timeshares such as Ka'anapali Beach Vacation Resort in Ka'anapali, Hawaii; Royal Oasis Club at Benal Beach in Malaga, Spain; Palazzo Catalani in Soriano nel Cimino, Italy; and Vallarta Torre in Puerto Vallarta, Spain.
