Okay, what is twelve miles long, five miles wide, shaped like a boot, AND has beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches, world-class golf courses and tennis courts, and bike paths? The answer of course is Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Check out the exquisite Hilton Head real estate, hotels, condos, vacation rentals and timeshares?

The beautiful community and recreational resorts of Hilton Head, SC are located just off Interstate 95, approximately forty miles north of Savannah, Georgia, and ninety miles south of Charleston, SC. You can reach Hilton Head easily by car or via major airline to the Savannah/Hilton Head Island International Airport, where you can rent a vehicle or take advantage of the many transportation services and resort transports that run regularly between the two cities.

Travel to Hilton Head Island is easy. Your challenge will be deciding at which luxurious hotel, vacation rental, or timeshare resort you want to book your lodging, and whether you start your Hilton Head holiday by hitting the beach, golf course, tennis courts, bike path, or simply lounging in the sun by a sparkling turquoise pool.

The beaches of Hilton Head are smooth and sandy. They are perfect for swimming, strolling, jogging, biking, or riding your personal watercraft. Enjoy the South Carolina native osprey, pelicans, herons, and of course the friendly dolphins, splashing just off shore. At Hilton Head, enjoy most what you don't find on the beach: billboards, motorized vehicles, neon signs, and towering buildings. These are beaches the way beaches are meant to be.

When you holiday at Hilton Head, take your tennis racket and your golf clubs. The facilities for either are excellent and conveniently located to Hilton Head Island hotels, resorts, and many spacious timeshares. Which perhaps explains why the PGA Tour returns year after year to play the MCI Heritage on Harbour Town Golf Links, a course you'll certainly want to try, along with the other two tournament quality courses of Sea Pines: the Ocean Course and the Sea Marsh Course.

But at Hilton Head Island, good golf courses (really good) are plentiful. Play the five distinctive courses of Palmetto Dunes, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Arthur Hills, Robert Cupp, or Tom Fazio. And along with the roughly twenty other outstanding courses on or near Hilton Head, you'll want to be sure you get in eighteen holes at the Gary Player and Bobby Weed designed Hilton Head National Golf Club in nearby Bluffton.

While at Hilton Head Island explore South Carolina's nearby Edisto Beach and the charming antebellum town of Beaufort. You'll be experiencing low country ambience at its best enriched with heavy doses of pure southern hospitality.

And after your Hilton Head vacation, you might as well expect the change; it's inevitable. The mellow, gentle lifestyle will touch you. You will take a bit of Hilton Head home inside of you. You will return to your daily routine a little more relaxed. A little fonder of the taste of shrimp and the fragrance of magnolias. You may even find that the words, "Welcome ya'll", have crept unexplainably into your vocabulary.

You've had a glorious beach and golfing vacation on Hilton Head Island. Don't expect to ever be the same.
